What we’ve all been eating is now evidently clear…! unfortunately. Politics ‘rides the wave of the future’ in matters of food, unless we all do our part to arrest it’s methods.
King Corn; I hope everyone’s seen this flick. Watch that along side ‘Super Size Me’ and you’ll be ready for a revolution…add to that, now damnit, I’ve forgotten his name but he now has his own TV programme and he goes about teaching communities how to adjust their school menus to an nutritive and acceptable standard. He’s not only making waves, he’s causing tsunami’s ! It’s wonderful to watch the children’s faces while their understanding of what they’re eating impacts them.
Another thing we can do is join http://slowfoodusa.org and play a proactive role in introducing children to the basic concept that ‘food is fuel’ not just stuffing a substance down your throat to stave off hunger.
A community garden is another wonder re-emerging into the lives of many who’ve never so much as planted a flower.
I’m so grateful for folks like the Tibetan Tea team who are not only publishing the need for some life enhancing changes, but playing their part in steering the correction.
By the way, this soft drink that they sell is everything and more that it’s promised to be. Out with the corn syrup in with the tea.
