Taurine, Glucuronolactone, Carnitine

Tibetan Tea does NOT contain Taurine, Glucuronolactone or Carnitine

There is a lack of information when it comes to the study of Taurine, Glucuronolactone and L-Carnitine.  I am unaware of any study concluding the positive side effects of the chemicals, i.e. greater alertness, reduced fatigue and enhanced motor skills, where they were tested without caffeine being present in the drink. The  results likely came from the caffeine content alone. Caffeine has substantially been proven to elevate energy and improve motor skills. Additionally, there are no legitimate studies completed in America which support the long term safety of these synthetic compounds, together or individually, in these large doses. Studies done on 13 to 25 people for a 24 hour period show up occasionally on the web. It is the lack of any real studies that allows these products to be consumed in this country.  It is important to note than many countries, including Germany, Canada, Norway, France & Sweden, do not allow our energy drinks to be sold in their countries at all, or require the taurine, gluruconolactone and carnitine to be removed or drastically reduced.  Why? Because they have tested these synthetic compounds and found them to be inert at best and dangerous at worst.

Taurine – An amino acid which is naturally produced in the liver and brain.  Natural taurine supports neurological development and regulates the level of minerals and salts in the blood.  The body only requires 6 mg per day. Per drink of Red Bull, Monster & Rockstar: 1,000 – 1,500 mg.

Glucuronolactone – A carbohydrate which occurs naturally in the body. It is necessary for connective tissue formation. The body needs 2 mg per day intake. Per drink of Red Bull, Monster & Rockstar: 600 – 1,400 mg.

L-Carnitine – A nutrient that helps the body turn fat into energy.   Carnitine is produced in the liver. The body needs 2 mg per day. Average mg per drink of Red Bull, Monster & Rockstar: 1,000 mg.
